Gratz to the Celtics

Good job lads!  You hung on, even after blowing that 20 POINT LEAD! My fav player of last nights game most def is Leon Powe.  The Celtics' second-year power forward, scored 21 points in 15 minutes off the bench, pushing his team to a 108-102 victory over the Lakers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Powe nailed six of seven shots from the low post and garnered 13 free throws from his repeated assaults upon the basket.

Now win at least one on the road and we are golden.

P.S.  To the LA Lakers....do not get my wrong.  I LOVE YOUR CITY.  Indeed, hope to move there soon.  When I do, I imagine that I will be on the other side of this fence.  (I am only saying this to piss my brother off). 

Paul "Fitzy" Fitzgerald for President of Red Sox Nation

My bro Ian introduced me to his  "Fitzy's Wicked Pissah Webcast" via TownieNews.com and I find him to be a complete RIOT!  Fitzy is a perfect embodiment of a fanatic "Masshole" sports nut!  This city would be crazy to support anyone else!

Bogey Golf

I thought about giving this post the title of "Bogus Golf" as that really defines my game (if you can even call it that).  In the end, I stuck with Bogey Golf as that is what my foursome today yielded while playing at the 16th Annual Community House Classic Golf Tournament.  That score was derived from playing a "best ball" format.

Four from my firm (including Moi) was invited by Yahoo! to team with them at this fund raising event where they were a major sponsor.  The tournament was located at the prestigious Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton, MA.

Quote of the day goes to my colleague and friend Greg Slama.  When asked if he had a handicap, his reply was simply "Plates".  ROTFLMAO!

P.S. The photo in this post is credited to Christian Gaul.  I had one of me originally, but the crap camera on my Motorola Q over-saturated the pic and it looked as if I had pink pants on (thanks for pointing that out Meredith!  LOL).  I think the one above is much cooler  anyways.

Best Year of Skiing

I know that its been forever since I blogged.  Traveling has had a lot to do with that.  Last weekend I was invited  to join my cousin Carmen and her friends for some Spring Skiing at Mammoth in California.  This immediately followed my weekend of skiing in Vail, CO.  Needless to say, this has been the best year of skiing in my life.  I have totaled 12 days on the slopes.  11 of those 12 days have been spent skiing out West (7 days at Whistler, 2 Days at Vail, 2 days at Mammoth).

Skiing Vail

Above is some footage that I took while skiing the back bowls of Vail this past Friday.  The snow conditions were amazing for this late in the year.  As this was my first day of skiing at altitude, I sound like I am going to keel over and die.   Thankfully, I avoided such fate.  The only thing that I lost that day was my Motorola Q.  Arrrrrgggghhh!  I apologize to anyone who tried to call or txt me over this past weekend.

My bud Jason is narrating and our friend Tom is the one with the skis, kicking it loung style.  Vail now ranks as one of my favorite places to ski.  I really love how vast the mountain is and the various bowls and trails that they offer. 

SkiTam 2007

My friend and business colleague, Jason, and I arrived in Vail, CO this evening to join our client Comcast at SkiTam.      SkiTAM is the annual fundraising program of CTAM of the Rocky Mountains. The annual ski weekend is the year’s best Cable and Telecommunications networking event and directly benefits the U.S. Disabled Ski Team. This Saturday, 400 individuals making up a total of 80 teams will compete in a down hill duel slalom race.  Both Jason and I are competing on the Comcast team.   

The Golfer's Mind

Last week I had the opportunity to play my first 18 holes of long play golf this year.  As part of the Gridley & Company Fifth Annual Summer Networking Event and Golf Outing, I was invited to join a foursome to compete in the events scramble tournament.  The rules included best ball on the first drive, then normal golf game play after that with the best score of the foursome for the hole.  The rules also called for using at least two drives per person on the team.

Needless to say, I was awful!  ;)  Regardless, I had a good time.  In fact, I was awarded a copy of The Golfer's Mind by Dr. Bob Rotella.  for coming in with the most amount of strokes (meaning I was the worst golfer).  HA!  I shot a 115.............with a 36 handicap! So it goes without saying that I need all the help I can get.  I did enjoy playing the course at the exclusive Blind Brook Club located in Purchase, NY.  As they say, why let golf ruin a nice walk in the woods.

I have to give a shout out to Cassie, an analyst with Gridley, who was supposed to be my golf partner in arms.  That is until some genius decided to re-arrange the teams.   Oh well, the summer is still young and there are plenty of golf courses to still disgrace with our "challenged" game play. ;)

Boston Red Sox Opening Day

Boston welcomes the Toronto Blue Jays to Opening Day at Fenway Park.  Supposed to be a "wicked pissa" beautiful afternoon.  Have fun getting trounced you silly little Canadians! ;)
