Our second day in Napa was a blast! We filled it with 4 vineyard tours: Nickel & Nickel, Caymus, Cakebread, and Shifflett. Although it began with a small hiccup (our driver did not show in the am which caused us to be 15 minutes late for our Nickel and Nickel tour), it ended nicely with us procuring:
By far our favorite tour was Nickel and Nickel and Shifflett. Cindy and I ended up joining the Nickel and Nickel wine club. Jeffrey Shifflett, the owner of Shifflet Estate, made our last tour special by providing a very intimate glimpse into his overall vineyard and business as a wine maker.
Although its sad to be leaving this amazing part of the country, there is no doubt I will be a loyal visitor for years to come. Indeed, it will no doubt make the Napa wines I drink from this point forward a wonderful reminder of this amazing weekend. Thank you Cindy!!!!!
Below are some photos I took throughout the day:
Cindy and I arrived in Napa Valley yesterday by noon. We had a wonderful lunch at Rutherford Grill and then set off to visit the Opus One and St. Supery vineyards. Afterwards we checked into our our AMAZING suite at Auberge du Soleil. Enjoy the photos below.

The above photo, which I took of a bakery store window display off the Champs-Elysees in Paris in 2003, may appear in the Third Edition of the Schmap Paris Travel Guide. In the past, I have had other photos published in Schmap Aix-en-Provence Guide. The publication has found all my work via my Flickr account. I am curiouse to why they have not contacted me about the photo's I took in Tuscany, Italy last year. They are sooooo much better.
At last, I have completed uploading all of my photos from Italy. As my prior post claimed, this last set represents the time that I spent in Northern Italy. Some pictures are of Ca' Marcello, the Levada estate where I stayed during my final week (I posted about this property back in May). My hat goes off to Jacopo Marcello for providing my guest and I wonderful accomodations. Others include shots of Asolo, Venice, and her sister islands of Murano and Burano.
The following set of 209 photos were taken between May 17th-May 25th 2006 and may be viewed at the following location:

I finally put some effort into editing my last two sets of photos that I took while visiting Italy this past Spring. The first set of photos I am uploading are the ones I took in Florence, where I spent a couple days after completing the National Geographic Photography Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. The following set of 92 photos were taken on May 15th-May17th 2006. It was during this time when I was joined by my friend Melissa and stayed in what I consider the finest boutique hotel that I have yet to expereince; JK Place. The final set of photos that I took while in Italy will represent the time I spent in the Northern part of the country (specifically Venice). I plan to upload those photos tomorrow.

I have uploaded my fifth and final set of photos that I took while attending a National Geographic Photography Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. The following set of 12 photos were taken on May 13th 2006. Our tour group visited Il Paradiso Di Frassina after our visit to Montepulciano. I posted about this vineyard back in June.
Below represents the only photographs I took when I visited Montepulciano on May 13th while attending a National Geographic Photography Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. Although Montepulciano was as worthy to shoot as any I had the pleasure of visiting during my stay in Italy, I had decided I would not experience it via the view finder in my camera. Instead, I wanted to soak in the surroundings and purely enjoy where I was in that moment. I spent most of my time at a cafe drinking a bottle of wine, people watching, and treasuring every second in this beautiful Tuscan village.
Last Saturday, I attended my first official Russo Flotilla in Campton, NH. This event consisted of 22 people floating down the Pemigewasset River on infaltable tubes and one inflatable whale. Two of the tubes where Sherpas to the the coolers that contained our beer for the couple hour (freezing) journey.
Pictures are uploaded here.
I have uploaded my fourth set of photos that I took while attending a National Geographic Photography Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. The following set of 39 photos were taken on May 11th 2006 in the Tuscan city of Montepuiciano. There are also several landscape photos. These were taken later in the day outside of San Quirico. I had posted about this day on May 12th, 2006.
