Ok....enough with the Palin bashing. She bores me. Time for a cool jam I discovered while listening to the Om: Dubai compilation. Although the above video is a bit different then what is on the Om LP, which features the Fiasco's Conduction Mashup of the song, it is still a fun track!
How I long for the days of nuclear proliferation, muttually assured distruction, Reagan, and 80s Synth Pop! I have become a huge fan of http://www.last.fm as it has enabled me to retrieve from the grave some of the golden oldies that I feel best represent my memories of those days.
If there is any single person that has renewed my faith in Progressive, House, and Trance music, it has to be Spencer Gordon and The Sonic Infusion. You have to admit, the entire genre has been getting pretty old. However, Spencer Gordon's weekly podcasts available for free re: iTunes or PodOmatic has introduced a body of work that simply ROCKS! I have went ahead and embedded a player streaming The Sonic Infusion into this post. You simply must CHECK OUT EPISODE 72!
PodOMatic provides the following details regarding Spencer Gordon:
Obsessed with the infinite sonic possibilities, Spencer relocated from
Chicago to Miami to attend the SAE Institute of audio technology where
he graduated from their Audio Engineering program. Already an
experienced DJ, Spencer has expanded his skills working in various
studio and live sound projects.
If you dig Progressive, House, and Trance beats-I urge you to visit one of the links provided above and check out his mixes. You should also check out his MySpace Page as well.
With hundreds of the best b-boys and b-girls representing 16 crews from 14 different countries, R-16,
Seoul's second annual international breakdancing championship, is an
unparalleled event. Cool Hunting's Episode 88 packs the two days of competitions into
a kinetic experience of skill, energy and a love for the artform. From
the slo-mo pop rocking of Japan's Hamutsun Serve to Korea's own
Drifterz and Rivers, it's a portrait of the amazing cultural styles
that have emerged in today's global b-boy scene.
Last week I posted the video "Calabria 2007" in a post titled Video Playlist: EYE CANDY v1.0. Via YouTube, I was also able to uncover the original music video. Provided for our viewing pleasure above, I think I like this as much if not better!
Below is an attempt to aggregate some of the hottest dance videos I have come across. And by hot, I mean the women are FA NOMINAL and the beats are sick!!!!
Tiësto, one of my favorite DJs, is currently in the midst of his latest world tour titled Elements of Life. In fact, it looks as if two weekends from now (8.25.07) he concludes the tour at GM Place, Vancourver Canada (one of my favorite cities)! Although the concert is reported to be sold out....I may need to hunt down some tickets!
Globally, Tiësto is best known for being the first DJ to play live at the opening ceremony of the Olympic games and voted "best DJ in the World" consecutive 3 times in a row by DJ magazine as well as his seminal production credits.
Below is one of his latest tracks associated with his Elements of Life Tour.
