Today I participated in a round table discussion titled "Technology Marketing: Challenging the "Old Way" of Doing Business" at the Red Herring East Conference in Cambridge MA. My fellow panelist included:
- Cliff Conneighton, Chief Marketing Officer, ATG
- Bob Wesley , Chief Executive Officer , MobileLime
- Malcolm Frank, SVP, Marketing and Strategy, Cognizant
- Larry Weber, Founder & CEO, W2 Group
The moderator was Alix Vieux, Chief Executive Office of Red Herring. I would have to say that it was the most pathetic round table that I have ever had to suffer through! Mr. Vieux skills in moderation are far from what would be considered industry standard. He lacked any understanding of the topic and never engaged the panelists ahead of time regarding his line of questioning.
It was embarrassing to be a part of this event. I felt bad for both my fellow panelists as well as those in the audience that had to suffer through a line of ill-informed questioning and unwarranted arrogance of Red Herring's CEO.
