Its hard for me to listen to the news these days regarding the events surrounding the Katrina Hurricane disaster. I am especially disturbed about how INEPT this country's government has been in responding to the survivors. It took until yesterday to evacuate the remaining 300 people stranded at the Superdome. It took until yesterday for President Bush to order an additional 7,000 active troops into the region. It took until yesterday for some law and order to be brought back to this devastated region. This is almost a WEEK after the Hurricane hit. President Bush, I blame you and your lack of leadership for the slow and pathetic response to help those effected in that region. I have been a supporter of yours up to now. These are AMERICAN citizens you turned your back on. You are an ASS!
I actually don't blame Bush for the delay, but FEMA and the local government for their failed response procedures.

I agree with you that Bush is not directly responsible for the actual delays that occurred throughout the local to the federal bureaucracies in response to the catastrophes surrounding Katrina (I have little confidence in any government body acting decisively and efficiently when left to their own devices). Instead, I am commenting on his lack of leadership when it was needed most. Chaos occurred because no one stepped up to fill the void. His role as Commander and Chief demands that the buck stops with him. His influence and power can not be underestimated and should have been used to its full extent in response to this natural disaster. I do not get the impression it was. This leads me to think that more time was wasted then necessary in organizing the response to aid and more miscommunications and delays occurred as a result. This is pure conjecture on my part. Just an observation from the outside looking in.

Amen Jeremi! I totally agree. Bush and the incompetent officials he pointed to run things like FEMA have completely messed up this time. And in OUR COUNTRY! He was vacationing while Katrina was bearing down and then left to go farther west for rather pointless community meetings afterward the storm had done its damage. He completely (practically literally) turned his backs on those who are needing of his help. It is ridiculous!
It makes me livid!
